Jaime Sicilia – Miroir

Beauty repairs.

This is the concept that guides the development of the work of artist Jaime Sicilia. As an artist he works on multidisciplinary projects with painting, sculpture, photography and video. His work is a reflection on color, light, matter, space and time. Nature is primarily the subject and this is offered as a contemplative experience.

Jaime Sicilia works with these guiding principles in groups of works such as Mares, Amapolas, Wald, My amazonic journey and others, in which he explores these guiding principles again and again. We experience this impressively in his new series of works Miroir, a homage to the artist Keiko Nakamura.

„Traditionally since ancient times, here in Japan, the reflection in a mirror was considered to be a representation of the soul or the spirit. Looking closely at this image allowed for deep introspection and a better understanding of oneself.“
