It’s summer, which means it’s time once again for our exhibition series ‘mianki & friends’, in which we showcase, once a year, the gallery’s artists who are not featuring in a solo exhibition during that particular year. This year, we have invited the artist Georg Küttinger from Munich to take part. This gives you the opportunity to discover something new whilst also keeping up to date with the latest developments in our artists’ work. Look forward to the individual works and to the dialogue created by their juxtaposition with one another.

In the exhibition “drawn with …, drawn on …,” we explore drawing from various perspectives. We ask ourselves: from what point onward do we consider something a drawing, with or on what materials are drawings made, and what techniques are used? The materials range from graphite, ink, thread, hot glue, paper, and light to canvas, Plexiglas, and silk, all the way to space-filling drawings. As for techniques, we find a wide variety, from classic drawing and writing to sewing, embroidery, and cutting, all the way to collage and pyrography.
Marc Dittrich – Stadtbilder
For his photo sculptures, Marc Dittrich cuts his own photographs of modern building facades into fine strips and weaves them into new architectural surfaces. When the prints are interwoven, an offset is created in the motif, the original grid of the facade is shifted in itself. Material and motif combine to form a new architecture-like sculpture, a surreal hybrid of sober documentation and dynamic structure. This contrasts with the strict geometry of the original motifs.
